Most Effective Way to Add Muscle?

I am 5' 7'' and about 130lbs, I am a pretty slim guy and want to add some decent bulk (think like Hugh Jackman, not Arnold) What is the best way to go about this? is it better to eat a ton of calories and lift low repetitions with high weights, eat a little more than i burn at rest, and lift moderately weights at sets of 8-10 repetitions? What is the best method for someone that is of small stature like myself to add some bulk?
