What can be done with my car payments...?

long story short, my dads company is laying everyone off for min 2 weeks in December to avoid actual long term layoffs in the company... my mom is not working.. and we need the extra income at home.. is there anything that can be done to pay a penalty or something for my car payment so I wont have to make the actual payment due each month,.. for maybe 1-3 months and they just add it to the end of the loan cycle??? .. without it affecting my credit.. we need the extra income. the car is under my name, but my dad is the co signer.. anything I can do?
