Det ab = det a det b?

The relationship is true if A and B are both nxn matrices. If A and B are not nxn, then the relationship is invalid. For example, if A is nxm and B is mxn for all |m-n|>0, then the determinate is not defined for either A and B, yet the determinate is well defined for the product.
